Falcon and Kaiji
3:45 p.m. x 07.02.10

It was Fujiwara Tatsuya who caught my attention, but on closer inspection, I saw dear Matsuyama! And reading it more closely, it read that this film features the original cast of DN! But I guess Matsuyama's role is quite small as his picture wasn't really big in the poster. There wasn't any release date on the poster, but as I was waiting for the train to go back home, I caught a bit of the commercial. It's gonna be released in cinemas 11th March!! YAY! I can't wait! Oh, the picture below is another closer shot taken back at the Queenstown station.

Btw, I just finished Bloody Monday, due to the recommendation by my dear Korean class friend, who doesn't really watch alot of jdoramas. It was good, and I won't attempt to convince you. I brought this up here because I wanted to say how much I loved Narimiya-kun in there. Ok, I love Narimiya-kun almost everywhere he appears, but in there...there was the depth. The scene I love most would be the one in the last episode, where he was in the minivan with Otoya.
"Falcon flew to your rescue.
I think he's a good friend.
What a huge difference huh.
Other than having the same mother, we don't share anything in common.
I...am different from you.
Well then, take care, little brother.
Till we meet again.
Send him back carefully...to Grandfather's place."
It hinted at J's purpose in becoming part of the terrorist group, which was also introduced earlier in the drama and throughout the whole drama: Him saying that he was there for one sole purpose, which was to take back something of his, and his grandfather's act of removing his existence in the world. Coupled with Narimiya's great acting there, it conveyed a few messages:
He's envious of Otoya, that although they share the same mother, they have been leading different lives and meeting different worth/worthless acquaintances.
He still sees himself as part of the family, although he might hate his grandfather, because he still address the old man as 'grandfather'.
The other scene I liked was right at the start of the drama, in the shopping mall where the fake virus was released. I It was the look on Miura's face when he released that he had made that mass infection possible by going along with the terrorists' threats. The guilt, worry, anger that mixed together and formed the tears in his eyes. Great acting!
Of course, there were quite a few loose ends. But if you watched without thinking too much, it's a good drama. One thing I hope would be explained further was J's willingness to help/serve K, at least at the start. I mean, compared to K, he's so much brightier, emotionally stronger, and he's older. Or was it due to his loyalty towards his dad that he helped K, who was 'chosen' (I assume) by his dad to inherit the cause? So when K killed his dad, he decided to stop helping her. I don't know. One thing I admire about J though, was that he's very honest. Everything he says is true, except that sometimes they are half-truths, or misleading. For example, he told Fujimaru that he was blood brothers with Otoya (Which helped Maya make her lie more convincing), he told Fujimaru that he wanted to stop K from setting off the bomb (But it was because he wanted to do it himself).
I'm looking forward to the 2nd season. Instead of more of Miura, I want more of Nariyama! I had expected his part to be quite small as it was written "Special/guest appearance" beside his name at the credits of the episode. But....oh well, it's great news!
------------------------Art & Craft hw for parents
3:05 p.m. x 06.02.10
WTH is with parents.
Who help their kid in art & craft hw.
Yeah, because it's not exactly something that will help them in their work life in the future, so it's not as important as other subjects like Math and Science and English and Chinese and whatever. Yeah whatever.
Another stupid excuse I often hear is that the teachers are setting topics/criteria that are too difficult for their young child, so they have to help. Sometimes Often the help extends to beyond just 'help' from the side and becomes 'help to complete the whole thing'. And so they will never learn. Besides, would the teachers set that assignment if they think it's really beyond the child's ability to complete it on his own? Hello, their purpose is to let the child experience art, not to let the child's parents help him with it. So, going by this, it's more likely that the teachers set something that can actually be done by the child himself, with miminal help from his parents. Unless if the teachers are mistakened about the child's abilities. That's quite possible, because everytime/every year they set an assignment, it gets done meeting or exceeeding the required standards, all thanks to the parents. So, they misunderstand the children's art & craft abilities and hence set more difficult assignments next time round.
Crap.
ARGH everything's so crappy, I just want to scrap it and throw everything into the bin.
Ok, I'm not making any sense because I'm too pissed off right now.
------------------------Mess cleared up. Finally.
7:52 p.m. x 01.02.10
I've enough of seeing Sam's face.
Finally, it's over.
What is over?
Haha, the biggest mess I've ever had for a presentation in NTU. Here's the timeline of what happened, and what made me go MIA for the past week:
11 Jan Mon
Sam, Den and I went for our Strategic Mgt class. We were told to form groups with a maximum of 5 ppl per group. This other clique had 6 (or was it 7?) people, so 2 asked if they could join us. So, we became a group of 5. Then, there was another group with only 3, and the tutor said it'll be very tough for there to have only 3 in the group, and asked one of us to go over. In the end, Den went over.
21 Jan Thurs
The four of us had our first meeting for the presentation we had to make on 1 Feb Monday. We had a rather awkward and held back discussion, after which we split up the work and agreed to meet on the following Monday.
22 Jan Fri
I met Sam and Mark to find info on EU tour packages. After that, Sam came to my gm house to discuss our parts for the presentation. We figured that it won't be possible to come up with enough stuff by Monday, and we emailed the other two girls to postpone the meeting to Tuesday. They agreed.
24 Jan Sun
I came home at 10pm after the Arashi fanmeet, checked my email and found a very pretty email waiting for me. It was sent at 945pm, by the two saying that they had dropped out of our class and switched to another class (That day was the final day for add/drop). They said they'll continue to help us with the questions they were assigned to until we find new members. I was so pissed that I nearly cried, and I called Sam to complain. For goodness sake. They gave no warnings or whatsoever that they are trying to change to another class! WTH!!
25 Jan Mon
I informed the tutor that our group (technically it's a pair) was left with 2 people, but he had the decency to smile and say that it's easier to do with people. He says that he doesn't want to leave next week's case study undone. Gosh, he could just ask everyone to prepare and then facilitate discussions! LAZY. Finally, he asked if we wanted to do the strategic audit assignment with the foreigners team, which had 3 people. And so we joined.
27 Jan Wed
Sam came over to start discussing the project, leaving just before dinner.
28 Jan Thurs
Sam came over again to do the project, this time staying overnight.
29 Jan Fri
Sam continues to do the project at my gm's place. We leave for dinner at PS and for mystery shopping at PS and Raffles City, ending at only 9.30pm.
30 Jan Sat
Sam came over at 2pm where we continued till past 11pm.
31 Jan Sun
The both of us did our speeches and the slides via MSN for the whole day.
1 Feb Mon
Today, where we finished the presentation. Well....fine, the tutor fulfilled his promise to "help us out" but asking lesser questions than usual, and by helping to answer some questions the class asked. And he said at the very end, "Good work given that you're just 2 people." But that doesn't negate the fact that had completely forgotten about our predictment and went, "Only you 2 presenting?" at the start of class.
And for our Strategic Audit, we have another member who just joined the class and our group. So all in all we have 4 foreigners in the group.
The Japanese seems really lost and quiet and....her presentation during the critique presentation was quite bad; she brought the textbook right up to her face and read from it. Not, make that mumbled from it.
The German seemed well prepared and analytical, but he gave us bad vibes, like...very unfriendly.
The one from Sweden was the most friendly and kept smiling. =)
The final member had wavy hair that was super messy, and was really tall. Like, Sam was wearing heels and yet he was still much taller! Even taller than CK! That makes him about....185cm?
To end off, I just wanna complain about the crazy woman at home. I'm right now typing this in the corridor because the first thing she said when I entered her room (Internet's only accessible from her room/the dinning room right below her room) was, "Don't come into my room. I'm not in the mood for that."
Like wadever.
And so, in my usual rebellious self, I took the laptop and went outside her room to do my work. Hey I HAVE TO do research for tomorrow's class k!! Legitimate reason! Like I want to do it....
And then just a while ago, she came out to open the door for my gf. So, she saw me and said, "Go back your room and do lah." "There no internet." She just walked away and grumbled, "So irritating." And I could even hear her complaining about me to my gf as he came back. I don't know where she is now, but I guess she's in the room downstairs, spending some quiet time on her own. WHATEVER LAH. She's so irritating at times I just wanna pack up my bags and go.
As you know, the only rebellious thing I've done in the typical rebellious stage of life aka the teenage years, was to run out of school with YY during self-study to go to the nearby Macs to....study.
I need to catch up k!
